Cybershot W200

I took the W200 for a B&W test run- its a great point and shoot especially when you dont want to lug the DSLR kit around- great B&W mode and facece detection that actually works

A700 @ ISO 3200

Comming from the D2xs and the D200 I was pretty wary of high ISO shooting. This shot came from the first series of JPEG files I shot on the first A700 I could get my hands on. Pretty good, but wait there is more- once you start shoot ARW files the quality really steps up.

A700 RAW files

The A700 ARW or RAW files currently arnt supported by Picasa (this is the way I upload to Blogspot) so I will convert them through Lightroom or PS3. The A100 file on the left was uploaded from an ARW through Picasa.
So far the A700 seems to be producing some amazing results, so more to come…

The Switch

Recently I switched to another brand- Sony. Before I continue let me say that this is because I work for them, so I figured that I had better get on board with the product. Bye bye Nikon, hello Alpha. Over the past couple of weeks I have gotten to know both the A100 and the newer A700 and I am impressed with the results, keeping in mind that certain things are not as advanced as my old mates at Nikon but on thing that is impressive is the output- clean whites, great skintones and fantastic color.
It may be of intrest to note that at the same time my wife, a Canon user purchased herself a 5D and some L series lenses so I now have a pretty good understanding of all three systems.
